How to frame 16" x 24" photos using do-it-your-self metallic frames from Michaels Stores

Why 16" x 24" photos ?

Although the size is referenced as 16" x 24", the photos are actually 24" wide x 16" tall.

This size is chosen because it makes the photo look panoramic, and spectacular, and the observer will get the impression that he is inside the scene.

To enjoy these photos on your wall, you don't need expensive frames or even glass. See below the sample photos on this wall, and check the tutorial below on how to frame these photos using inexpensive but nice frames.

How my photos look framed with 16 x 24 metallic frames

3
All my photos have a digitally designed border, so even if you don't frame it, the digital border will enhance the look of the photo.

4
What you need to buy at Michaels:

To build the frame you need to buy two sets of metallic frames: One set of 16" ($9) , and the other set 24" ($12).

Each set has four (4) pieces, but you will only use two pieces of one set, and two
pieces of the other set, and the remaining frames can be used to frame another photo.

Also buy the board ($3 to $5 depending on brand), and have it cut exactly 16" x 24". This will be the support for the back of your photo:

5
Start assembling the frame. Use two 16" pieces for the side frames and two 24" pieces for
the top and bottom frames, but leave one side open, the last 16" frame piece.
On step 8 to 10 you will see how brackets and frames are attached:

6
Place and align your photo on top of the 16 x 24 board

7
Slide both the photo and the board in to the frame

8
Prepare to assemble the last 16" frame piece. You will attach the corner brackets A and B into the frame:

9
Align and attach A and B brackets as shown below:

11
Slide the brackets in both corners at the same time, and tighten the brackets:

12
Be careful don't damage your photo when attaching the last frame, make sure everything fits perfect.

Finally, I would like to clarify that I don't work for Michaels, and don't have any type of association with Michaels,
and I don't get commission from Michaels, I just want to guide you framing your own photos nice and inexpensive.
